Periapsis Music and Dance presents:

Join Periapsis Music and Dance for a full evening of dance with live music.  Our sixth season program features three world premieres from our resident company of dancers and musicians, plus guests from the Periapsis Open Series.  Resident choreographer Erin Dillon and composer/artistic director Jonathan Howard Katz have crafted Epoch, a new large-scale work for the ensemble, and we’ve commissioned guest choreographer Janis Brenner and composer Leah Asher to create a trio, titled she was not needing to be changing after Gertrude Stein.  Completing the program are works presented through our service programs: a new duet by Wendell Gray II and Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti created during our Emerging Artist Residencies last summer, and three guest performances through the Periapsis Open Series.

EPOCH by choreographer Erin Dillon and composer Jonathan Howard Katz made possible by a commissioning grant from the O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation

SHE WAS NOT NEEDING TO BE CHANGING by choreographer Janis Brenner and composer Leah Asher made possible by funds from the Harkness Foundation for Dance and a commissioning grant from the O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation; music commissioned by the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation

NEW WORK by choreographer Wendell Gray II and composer Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti developed during the 2017 Emerging Artists Residencies

konverjdans with composers Jim Robertson and Hank Mason (Thursday evening, Saturday matinee)
Rovaco Dance/Rohan Bhargava with composer Fernando Acevedo (Thursday evening; Saturday evening)
Megan Sipe with composer Moira Lo Bianco (Saturday matinee and evening)
